On November 15, 2021, President Biden signed into law the $1.2 Trillion Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. President Biden stated, “This law makes the most significant investment in the past 70 years. What that means is you’re going to be safer, you’re going to get there faster, and we’re going to have a lot less pollution in the air”. While it can be debated that some of the taxpayer’s money that will be spent is not necessary, most in the transportation industry look forward to the money that will be spent to repair our country’s highways, bridges, railroads, and ports. Once a world leader, the U.S. is ranked 13th in the world when it comes to infrastructure quality, according to the World Economic Forum. The American Society of Civil Engineers graded the country’s infrastructure as a C- this year.
