The Steering Wheel Knows No Gender

Today’s tight economic labor market and high demand for equal wages have more women pursuing a career in trucking. According to the American Trucking Association, there was a 68% increase in women driving trucks from 2010 – 2019. 

Many believe this increase has occurred due to technological advancements such as better automatic transmissions, no driver touch at customer facilities, and seating visibility; all of which have made the industry more accessible. Targeted marketing and word of mouth along with upgraded facilities have made it more accommodating for life on the road.
