In the midst of produce season, the transportation industry has many options to consider when moving their product from its origin to the store. Transport time, temperature, storage, and, for many states, pest control. Invasive pests are a threat to many crops harvested in the U.S. because many of them don’t have natural predators in their new home. Insects like the Emerald Ash Borer, the European Gypsy Moth, and the Hemlock Wooly Adelgid have been known to wreak havoc on certain plant species in the U.S.
