Ready to conduct valuable financial analysis, augment business processes and have an impact on daily decision making? The Financial Analyst will be a key player in contributing to the company’s financial reporting, business processes and project management. This role will be pivotal in driving value to Allen Lund Company’s 35 sales offices and corporate support departments. Equipping our industry best employees with valuable insights through KPIs and timely reporting, the Financial Analyst will make an immediate impact in helping the company deliver impactful data to those that drive the business. This role will be a member of the Finance team reporting directly to the Controller and work closely with the CFO, CIO, and Director of Project Management.
Daily Tasks and Responsibilities
· Produce and distribute monthly commission reports for business development specialists
· Assist Controller and CFO in completing tasks for monthly financial close process in accordance with the company’s period close calendar
· Audit, allocate and manage payment for all Mobile and Telecom related AP invoices
· Review monthly expense reports and reimbursement requests to ensure compliance with company purchasing policy and correct classification of expenses
· Support company ERP migration as well as periodic ERP patches
· Generate and send quarterly incentive reports for the company incentive program
· Work directly with Controller and Project Management team to streamline office and company AP/AR processes
· Develop office and company KPIs to measure operational and financial performance
· Collaborate with Analytics team to create dashboards and reports for BI tool
Financial Analyst Toolkit
Essential Skills and Experience:
· Accounting or Finance experience (1-3 years) with a proficient understanding of financial statements
· Self-starter who can understand the complex and evolving needs of the business and deliver powerful solutions
· Excellent communication skills with the capacity to convey information clearly and simply
· Exceptional aptitude to understand and assess business data to perform financial analysis
· Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks/projects and excel in a fast paced environment
· Critical attention to detail
· Intermediate to Advanced MS Excel Skills
· Familiarity with finance modules in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software such as Oracle, SAP, PeopleSoft
Preferred Skills and Experience:
· Foundational knowledge of the 3PL/trucking industry
· Working knowledge with Qlik or other self-service BI software (Tableau, Domo, MS Power BI, etc)
· Familiarity with project management software (Asana, Microsoft Project, Podio, etc)
Education:
· Undergraduate or graduate degree in Finance or Accounting
· CPA/MBA a plus
