Retaining Our Truck Drivers
According to ATA, up to 70% of freight in the United States is moved by trucks. In the U.S. there is estimated to be 3.5 million truck drivers. This number is expected to decline each year. Even at 3.5 million, the Wall Street Journal reported a shortage of around 48,000 drivers. Each year, there are more drivers leaving the trucking industry than joining.
