Keeping it Fresh: The Importance of Industry Associations

The transportation industry is fortunate to have many established associations that work to support many facets of the industry.  From the Transportation Intermediaries Association (TIA), National Association of Small Trucking Companies (NASTC), American Trucking Associations (ATA) and Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association (OOIDA), tools are available to carriers, drivers, brokers, and agents – large and small.  Just a few associations more specific to the perishable side of the industry include the Produce Marketing Association (PMA), Southeast Produce Council (SPC), New England Produce Council (NEPC), Texas International Produce Association (TIPA), and United Fresh.
