Moving it Forward: Is America Still a Manufacturing Superpower?

Oftentimes you may hear someone mention that nothing is manufactured in the US anymore.  For those that believe all the world’s manufacturing takes place in China or some other Far East locale, consider these interesting facts.  According to the February 6th, 2011 article in the Boston Globe entitled “Made in the USA,” the US economy continues to pump out more manufactured goods “than any nation on earth,” citing the United Nations Comprehensive Database of International Economic Data as a source.  Are there manufactured goods imported from other countries being sold in your neighborhood Walmart or Costco?  Yes, there are, but not to the extent you may think.
